Bioinformatics Basics In-Person
This course will discuss bioinformatic analysis in the context of recent scientific papers, with hands-on introduction to various databases and tools that can be used for analysis. It will provide a broad overview, touching on the three pillars of bioinformatics: molecular biology/genomics, computing/programming and statistics.
NOTE: This is a beginner level workshop. We will spend some time during the session learning about computing environments used in bioinformatics and do short exercises in the R programming environment.
